I am wondering if anyone evaluated using the GnuCash backend for the Tally Alternative ? I know its written in C, but that should be no reason to re-write the whole thing.

Hi I tried to use GnuCash 2 years back and it was designed for home and personal finance. I have heard that it is now able to handle business accounting, but not tried it. If someone can set up a copy for me, I can check it out.

It is available on one of the popular live cds so it can be checked out without installation.
