Hello All
Is there any way to retrieve the creation date of a file? The "ls -l" command shows date, but once the file is modified, the date shown is the modification date. Is it possible to get the creation date in any way?
Regards

No. Please turn off the legal notice, or use a webmail account or something.
Or should a LI* style policy of moderating and banning legal disclaimers be instituted?

Are you blind or something? I think you've been told to remove the legal notice atleast a 100 times! Do you want us to report you to ICICI for leaking internal info?

Dinesh are you GOD or LIST ADMIN or something like that ? who gives the right to be so rude ! Please let the list admin do policing work . And certainly PLEASE DONOT USE RUDE LANGUAGE.
You could have the listadmin request members with unacceptable signatures to signup from a more gentle email account .

Do " ls -lu " to see the difference.
As for the disclaimer, I think all the mailing-list users are angry becoz of these disclaimers. I recommend you to post messages using some other mailbox or else ICICI Group will not spare you for sending it to all people in the list and these kind of disclaimers make no sense to mailing -list users apart from filling up their mailboxes with unnecessary disclaimers.

That info isn't recorded anywhere. The file timestamps are normally updated to the current time, afaik. try touch or ci.
