This is my first submission to this list. Please forgive for any mistakes. I have been using linux for the past 2 years.(First installed distro FC2)

I have recently installed SUSE 10 along with Fedora 4(which was previously present).I chose not to install GRUB during SUSE install and am using the GRUB of Fedora to boot Win xp ,fedora as well as SUSE.All works fine in SUSE except that the display quality is very bad. I get a resolution of 1024x768 after adding "vga=0x317" as kernel parameter while booting SUSE .But when i scroll up or down in webpages or konqueror filebrowser th scrolling is not smooth. Can anyone help me to find out what is wrong.There in no such problem in Fedora 4 which i am using since 4 months....My graphics card is S3ProSavage DDR onboard. Everything else works fine in SUSE .Also 1 more thing....I cant start SAX2 from anywhere ,neither command prompt in runlevel 3 or from yast in runlevel 5.plzz

help LINUX GURUS!!!! Apart from this, I think SUSE 10 is the ideal distro to get any newbie hooked onto linux as it has a gui for almost all tasks using YAST(I myself was hooked on to linux since i first used the SUSE 9.1 Live CD.) A newbie from windows worls always wants to have a gui. -- The Future is Open...The Future is LINUX
