Hi All,
Which is a best antivirus in untubu linux? I'm running squid proxy-server on my ubuntu server I want all the web requests tobe scanned by antivirus for any virus/malware infection and then pass to the user. Which antivirus package can help me in this?
Check out clamav.org. Also check safesquid.

I've squidguard running for site blocking instead of safesquid. Now its the time for antivirus to block anything malicious which is coming from any other sites.
anyways, I think, I should try clamav, as even jtd has also suggested the same. Actually I had also in mind avg & avast, but I'm in doubt, how better they will work.

I was just reading on clamAV and come across this on their homepage.
"Clam AntiVirus is an open source (GPL) anti-virus toolkit for UNIX, designed especially for e-mail scanning on mail gateways."
In such case, I doubt if it will really help me blocking malicious web attackes on http.
Also, safesquid is not FREE

Best thing about open source is you can use it in unlikely or unthinkable places! You have to just look at the arch and see how can you can use it in different environment!

Avast has very good detection abilities in Doze. Much better than AVG. However I don't know the Linux part.
