Here's the reply that D-link guys sent me in regards to the MTNL DSL modem, the only way to get it working on linux is to do it vire a hub and ethernrt card. No driver available for linux

Thank you for your email, in regards to your question, we do not have any official drivers or support for the Linux Operating system. However you should be able to still use the Ethernet port on the unit to connect to your computer up to the modem as it does not require any drivers for its use.

Have you tried with a cross/straight cable? Ethernet is just fine.
