I don't know about heterogenous firewall, but a heterogenous network
basically means a network of different systems.
By definition, a network is an interconnected system of homogenous
systems. In this statement, though, homogenous refers to the role of
the machine - master or slave. It is necessary in a network that there
be no master-slave relationships.
