Dear Friends,
I wasted 2 evenings trying to setup and use this linux joke called Xandros 3 that came free with this month's chip cd. Are they trying to promote linux or get people pissed off and avoid linux?
Its lilo does not integrate with the existing grub. Tried out all combinations of grub script but it would always give kernel panic. Finally after reloading it and creating a bootable floppy, it finally booted from the floppy only to show what a disgrace it is to linux and its earlier version 1. Its dialup does not work even on an external modem. (Version 1 worked even on an internal modem). The xine player hanged and got stuck on my screen.
The Xandros forums are full of complaints against this new version.

hey pls dont try xandros 3.0 if u r a dev....it is meant for noobs and it really works fine for them....actually i work on xandros and it seamlessly integrated with distros on my machine...and reg the dialup pbm...i have no clue...coz xandros is the only distro which auto detects most hardware than any other distro...and xine crashing has nothing to do with xandros' quality....

ha ha ha...not really....give xandros to noobs and ask them to try it out...they will *for sure* be happy about linux....xandros as a desktop for noobs is 1000 times far better than any other distros....and /me as implemented xandros across various desktops in schools and coleges and found it to be the only linux distro which has drivers for all priners and modems and infact detects them perfectly...and thats why i recommend xandros for noobs...
