Can you tell us what ``exactly" went wrong when you did try to install Qmail on your own? Also if you tell us the steps you followed perhaps we can be of help.

It is generally a mailing list convention to share any ``notes" or other info on mailing itself. Though off late the wiki seems to be getting popular.
