Why distribute only FOSS LINUX OS's by kiosk. Why not cheap english/hindi/marathi/chinese teaching CDROMs DVDs Educational movies the works.

Definetly doable. Instead of colleges, set it up in Cultural book depot and or some popular mobo vendor. This will provide much wider exposure than a college. Setup one such in each major metro. Followup in the form of install fests in the vicinity would add punch.
Have you thought --------------- once the kiosk is made. And now you get 1 TERABYTE HARD-DISKS for $ 100 ------------- why not put all types of content on the kiosks.
Then the commercial vendors will get interested // so will the colleges.
I mean, any reason the kiosk stores only FOSS LINUX.
