Does grub boot linux from a btrfs?
Google has left me confused, especially with some threads stating that patches will leave grub incapable of detecting jfs.

Which version of grub?
I have a Debian Squeeze (first week 3/2010 build) running as a KVM guest OS. Grub version is 1.98 (15/Jan/2010); I have not dug deeply into this version but I am presuming the .mod files are required to boot the respective fs in boot/root. There are .mod files for ext2, reiserfs, jfs, zfs, in /boot/grub/ but not for btrfs.
Not sure if this answers your question.
