Computer Lab incharge - of various educational institutes could also be invited (at concessional rates, may be) to guide them to set up their lab - with a distro, dual booting, on their server. They might not be interested in all the asects, but only a few.

Fine. Added.
List, please go through the updated page http://db.glug-bom.org/wiki/index.php/VendorWorkshop#Audience_and_scope
More ideas have been added. This workshop could supplement the achievement of VJTI's success.
The idea about lower price first day - probably has one drawback. For those who can pay 'lower' price, will enter. Try out if it suits them and only /if/ the session doesn't seem to be fruitful they may drop out, and probably not consider an alternative.
May be the same price would have to be charged for both days, but if they opt for both days and not *just* the first, they could be offered a discount.
Sure, this sounds like Rs. 3/- for 250 grams and Rs. 5/- for 500 grams (vegetable market - typically)

this gimmick was very successfully tried out by atul chitnis and kishore bhargava in the PCQUEST seminars in the 90's. First day - 2K, second day 4K, both days together something like 5K. I could only afford first day, and was very envious of those who were swaggering around with 'both day badges'
