I've partinioned my hard disk such that I've got winxp on hda1: loaded Tally on this partion. Loaded wine on fedora2 and mounted the windows partition on /mnt/win Accessed Tally through wine /mnt/win/Tally?tally.exe Tally works fine and I can create a new company. Problem arrises when I try to port the old tally data into this the same directory (The old data was entered through windows) it does not port. Any Ideas as to what could be the problem ? Hi I dont really have much idea and i could very well be wrong but one problem that i think can the trivial 'end of line' problem. Windows and Linux use different delimiters. Does your data entered in Linux work fine on Windows? Also if the problem is what i feel, u can use a simple script to fix that. Regards aj

There is a file called TALLY.ini in the tally installation directory. Check that file. It has a reference to the directory location of the data files. You may want to edit this file if its not already pointing to the correct location.

Data Directory should be in tally directory. Then path should be set for both tally & data directory.
