I think the tone here is extremely accusatory and offensive. I think an apology is owed *to* Krishnakant from Vihan and not the other way round. Just my 2c.

EVERYONE has a right to question everyone else. That is the basis of a democratic society. The people being questioned must either reply till the questioners are satisfied and stop asking questions.
I believe that in a democracy, people who are being questioned also have the right to remain silent and not reply especially if the question is not posed in a civil manner.

Oh yes the right to stay silent is an option is always there, however that does not mean the questions disappear. In fact if the person exercises silence, more effort must be made get answers else there is little use of asking questions at all. The guilty just have to stay silent, enough time passes by and the focus shifts to other things. Democracy comes with responsibility to those who are representing ideals(in this case those of Free Software) - when they falter they cannot be allowed to go scot free.

Well, its not civil to tout idealism and then not bother see if it has been misunderstood either.
In fact i once remember saying on this very list ``FOSS is not a one night stand, its a life long commitment".

Oh come on guys, just call it quits. Vihan, its great to be anal and you have made your point, but at this point you are just beating a dead horse. How about this? Why dont you edit the article to EXACTLY how it should have been with all the right tones and words thrown in. It may stand as a tutorial for future media interviews.
Why Why is it that only the most nonsensical discussions gather momentum on the list? I'd rather see the stupidest or simplest linux related question answered (and not with the "do a google first" response) than see a discussion ending up like this....

Thank You. Though its a good idea to use the word analytical ;-)

Hmm... i do admit that message by now must have sunk through and in future greater care will be taken to avoid such incidents.

While that sounds like a good idea, that article is copyrighted to rediff and/or the journalist concerned and has not been released under a license such that i can modify and re-publish it.

LMAO! Well, i think that's the topic for another thread :D

Its human nature to expect and hope everything goes perfectly. Ironically it it also human nature to loose sense of that fact at times :-)
