Dear All, I wanted to know if there is anyway I can check the reason for server reboot. We have this server which got rebooted under unusual circumstances. No one claims to have rebooted the system, in the boot.msg I see no errors (probably should have come if there was a hard reboot in form of fsck et al). Is there anyway I can crack this one? Are there any steps that I can take to ensure that next time atleast I can find the actual reason? Regards, Chirag

Check the logs for events that happened near the time of reboot.
Use the last command to find out who may have been logged in at the time.
If your logs contain hardware monitoring information, like temperature, fan speeds, etc., that might help.
