but all the mails r beeing deliverd to root if i use star

I guess your mail server configuration is incorrect.

Check the following: 1. If you are using sendmail, see to it that the your domain is mentioned in /etc/sendmail.cw file. 2. If you are using qmail, put your domain entry in ~qmail/me, ~qmail/rcpthosts and ~qmail/locals. 3. Also note that you must put the name of your domain in .fetchmailrc file and not the IP address.
