hi all, im using a linux box thats behind a NAT. If i know the port as well as the IP address it has currently been assigned is there some way i can ssh into this machine from the other side that is from an external comp if yes then please tell me how.

They connection has be initiated from inside the NATed network, thats the usual way it is configured.
So get the machine to run a SSH tunnel from dynamic IP/NATed machine

You will have to configure your firewall to forward a port to port 22 of your host, or you could terminate a connection on the firewall and then push it further.

map iptables
look up DNAT
