New subject: Telnet Server

      yes, i did that. 
Now, I can telnet from the same m/c but not from any other m/c.

as root you have to edit the file /etc/xinetd.d/telnet
    and replace disable=yes to disable=no and restart the xinetd by
service
    xinetd restart.
