Hi all

I am not understanding the exact difference between these two. What is the full name of DRBD. any one plz help me.

My experiences with DRBD and ENBD are over a year or so old now, so I apologize if some of this is not true anymore.
We has setup a high-availability load-balancing cluster in our dept some time back. At the time, to implement the mirroring, I was faced with the same two options. We tried both.
ENBD was a bitch to configure and we never got it up at all. Also, ENBD had some reviews which I felt concerned about since I intended to put it in action in a production system. So we let it go at the time.
We setup the system using DRBD (which I don't think stands for anything in particular). It installed well and at first worked pretty well. However, as the system load grew, it started failing on us, and started behaving erratically and inconsistently. (Strangely, it passed all our initial load testing). We finally threw out drbd after about 6 months or so of toiling to get it to work right. We never considered trying ENBD again.
We use rsync now ;)
And we figured after about a year or so, that we never needed the high-avail anyway. The backup machine is now relegated to just that.
Hope this helps in your setup.
Zainul.

Actually, it was before IIT figured that out and objected to it. We kept it open, in the spirit of sharing. A lot of the stuff is openly available for those willing to look. We just provided a hub for convenient access.
