Hi, Digressing from the topic,I would like to ask as to the difference
between
Core2Duo processor with corresponding motherboard and PentiumD 2.80 Ghz Dual Core processor with Intel D101GGC motherboard in terms of computing
power
and speed?Like, I asked the reseller for a core2 duo but he got confused and gave me the above processor.I am in a dilemma whether I should ask him
to
exchange because one of my friends told me there's hardly any difference.Isthat true? What's your opinion?
Core2 Duo that comes in 1.8 and 2.13 GHz. speeds with Intel original 965 RYCK mobo is much more expensive than Dual Core with 102 GGC mobo. BTY, did the dealer give you 101 or 102 GGC? 101 was phased out since six months or maybe more.
My Intel Express Installer Driver CD shows D101GGC.Is it that D102GGC also uses the same driver installer CD?

Hi, firstly could you edit out the OP's (original poster) email address from your reply. 102 GGC will have a 102 GGC driver cd. Look under the hood using 'lshw' to check your chipsets. If you don't have the package, yum it or apt-get it. What does your mobo box say? When did you buy the mobo? As a rule, I always give all the original packing boxes and CDs to my clients for all items.
Price difference between 2.8 GHZ DC + 102 GGC and C2D 1.8 / 2.13 GHz. + 965 RYCK is _approx_ Rs. 6250/Rs. 9650.
Regards,
Rony.
