Hi
I just bought some Linux Cd's from linuxbzar. I found Debian v3 r5 and Debian Sarge (25/04/05 build)(DVD) listed there. I have ordered for the Sarge DVD
from http://www.debian.org/releases/ " The current “stable” distribution of Debian GNU/Linux is version 3.0r5, codenamed woody. It was released on April 16th, 2005. "
That is Debian v3 r5 aka woody.
"The “testing” distribution contains packages that haven't been accepted into a “stable” release yet, but they are in the queue for that. The main advantage of using this distribution is that it has more recent versions of software. Official security support for this distribution started May 3rd 2005."
That is testing aka sarge. Sarge comes with Openoffice, 2.6 kernel, gcc3.xx KDE3.2 and newer, versions of all the packages in woody. A few orphaned packages from woody have been dropped from sarge.
I am using the pcq sarge dvd. Works great.
