In the current month's "Linuxforu" issue there is mpg file (it is a video file of RMS giving speech). This file runs perfectly alright with xine, but with mplayer the audio of the file runs faster then it should normally be. (I am not talking about audio-video alignment.)
Has anybody had similar problem ?
I faced the same problem with mplayer...i even tried to view the file with windows media player 9.x but same problem.

Probably some issue with the Default Frame Rate with the player. Don't know what else is possible but you try some r&d on this part and let us know.
