Hi, I'd love to meet up. Around 7:00 P.M. on either 16th and 17th Sept. would be okey by me. What about the venue ?

no idea - but I have meetings in bandra on both days. So just fix some place - I'll get there.

am happy to offer our space as a venue - http://camputer.org/directions.html (is in khar w) . might be nicer than a barista, and the coffee shall be my contribution to open source. there's wireless / projector in case people want to turn this into a real 'meet' of some sort.
Either of the 16th or 17th works for me.

Sounds good. Sanjay you had done something with gstreamer awhile ago (afair). What was it?

We had a short discussion on this on mumpy mailing list. Since not all members here are subscribed to that list let me brief on what we have been considering.
1) Sanjay is interested in having a discussion on "surveillance system" topic that was started by Easwar. 2) Kenneth could you update us on inpycon during the meet? 3) Have a session on DJango. We will need a poll for this, run on mumpy mailing list, as it is a weekday so how many interested people can attend is not known.

This was more an off-the-cuff remark, but if people are interested, am extremely happy to have this discussion.
- Kenneth could you update us on inpycon during the meet?
Also, since this meeting came about because of Kenneth being in town - Kenneth, please tell us if you are okay with these plans (of MumPy invading on the agenda :D ) - also, if there's things specifically you would want to discuss ?
Looking fwd. -Sanjay

nothing specific, whenever in Mumbai I try to meet old friends (and new friends). If there is a projector I could give a short demo of avsap. Basically lists and wikis are best for discussions - but it is nice to be able to put faces to names at times.
so it is confirmed - 7 pm on the 16th at the venue given in the map.

hey jtd,
Sorry, missed your earlier question about work with gstreamer as well -- Am happy to share some of the padma tech. with relation to Ogg Theora and some of the tools we use to deal with and manage video.
We are currently in the middle of migrating the project from Turbogears to Django and I think it might be more exciting and there will be more cleanly reusable pieces of code and contribution paths once we're done with that.
Also, most of the programming work on the project is done by our two German colleagues, who should be down again in December this year, and that is possibly a better time to be able to get into the details in-depth.
Am always super-happy to give a quick overview / demo if there is time :-)
Looking forward, Sanjay

Could you give a reference lane adjacent to the venue lane? Is your lane parallel to the one that has the B. D. Petit Girls High School? From the map it appears to be one of the One Way / No Entry lanes before the Petit School lane. In that case Bus No. 211 and 214 from Bandra Stn. ( Bang opposite, going towards Linking Road Junction) will go to Petit School. We would have to get down one bus stop before it for the shortest route. Please update. Thanks.

walking from the Khar Danda bus stop is not inconvenient. from Khar West you can get 51, 220 or 304. However, one can also walk, which we have always done. It's a pleasant walk.

Now it is more clear. The area I mentioned was near Union Park and that is a longer walk towards Khar Danda. The Khar Danda bus stop is the closest from the map.
However, one can also walk, which we have always done. It's a pleasant walk.
I have walked that road to the station and unless one is used to long trekking, it is not so pleasant, especially in Mumbai's heat and humidity. Anyway its up to the walker.

I just want to clarify one thing - whenever LUG members go to other towns they have, or try to have, BOF meetings with who ever is available. This meeting is a BOF of that kind, not a regular LUG meeting which should be on weekends. So generally whenever I travel to place with an active LUG, I just mail the list and ask if anyone wants to meet up. I remember once we met in a barista in andheri. I also remember a meetup in Bengaluru where there was a huge turnout of exactly 2 people - but still it was an enjoyable meet ;-)
