I am thinking of purchasing the HP LaserJet 1010 for home use. Does this printer work well with Linux? The evidence from Google is mixed: linuxprinting.org goes as far as to say this is a "Windows only" printer and is "not recommended" under Linux. My Fedora Core 3, however, seems to have a driver listed for it when I go through the "Add Printer" routine.
Any first-hand experiences appreciated.

If the manufacture itself lists that they only support Windows, why you want to buy that product?

I have configured and used an HPLJ1010 on Linux. The distro was FC3. The printer works with the default drivers. I attached the printer and booted up the system. Kudzu detected the new hardware. I logged in and added the printer. And it was done. Absolutely painless.
