Option 3: Refactor the application, have it talk to a database via a wrapper module (or ODBC). Separate application logic, business logic and UI logic totally.

You can't read the headers? :P
For the rest of the list, can someone suggest a good way to get a custom header into my mail dynamically? I want to have a dynamic X-Message-Flag: header. (For those interested who use Outlook, look at the title bar of the mail)
