When I boot my sys, I get this message.

Checking for new hardware [FAILED]

That's kudzu. When I run it from the command line, it dumps core. What could be the problem? It's irritating me.

I've just changed my processor from p3 450 to p3 500. I don't think that should make a difference at all, should it?
