Strange.
There are some 650 people on this list, and it grows every day. So clearly there is interest.
On this list are people from across India, and across the world.
Many of the people on this list are from other LUGs, including from Delhi, Mumbai, Goa, Chennai, Cochin, Kolkata, etc.
Any of these people will be the first to criticize us, or point fingers, if the event does not give the community what it needs.
Yet not a single one of them has anything to say - to suggest, comment, criticize, etc?
By tomorrow, the "next 7 days" runs out, and what we have is some pretty solid suggestions from a few people. But they in no way are comprehensive enough. For example, we don't seem to have any suggestions or people volunteering to put together a sub-conference to address their interests.
Several people mentioned that a lot of smaller halls would be preferred to a few large ones. Given that this is done, what would happen in these halls? Are the KDE guys interested in doing a few workshops, have an Indian KDE users/developers meet? Are the Gnome guys interested in meeting up with new developers? Are the users and deployers with special interests (say - people using FOSS in music or entertainment applications) interested in getting together with others of similar interests? Are the Indic guys from Mumbai and Kolkata interested in using the event as a "common grounds" place to meet up and discuss stuff?
Unlike commercial "Linux" events, this event has always been (and will always be) for the FOSS community. Doesn't it make sense to have that very same community speak up and say how they want the event structured, what they would like to see?
Hello? Anybody out there? Delhi, Goa, Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata, Indore, etc. ... anyone home?
