*******Setup a Computer Lab within 30 minutes from a single CD********
Looking for volunteers to test it
The GLUE CD, a collection of some educational software and documentation, now has pre-configured GNU/Linux System on it. As earlier you can browse the CD but now you can boot from it and Install a GNU/Linux system from it within 30 minutes. If there are no other systems required on the same harddisk, the process is fully automated.
Otherwise you can make partitions manually and install. Those who have valuable data on disk cannot go for the first option
On reboot you get a RedHat7.3 installation with OpenOffice, Compilers for different languages and other programs. A Terminal Server also is installed and configured, ie. It can support disk-less terminals if you have a network card. Floppy Boot files and ROM imaes for diskless PCs are also included with a lot of documentation.
If anybody interested in tesitng it and give feedback, send me your postal address so that a CD can be send to you.
Please forward to other related mailing lists.
With regards

And the strange thing is sometime it works and sometime it gives this error. Moreover rebooting have no effect on the behaviour. Any sugestion, recomendation. I am using packages of RH 7.2 (complete installation). Thanks

My writer was giving a similar error when the media was bad. I have a samsung writer as well. Did you try changing the media? Also Samsungs writer does not work with certain media (eg Imation). I still have not been able to figure out why.

It is not media, cause i have tried different medias. Further, after some attemps, cd writer works by itself no matter which media I used. I am also using 'SAMSUNG ' 'CDRW/DVD SM-308B' 'T100' Removable CD-ROM.
All this error started after I gave -multi option, earlier it used to work fine.

I never could get multi session cds w/ my samsung combo cdrw/dvd 304B. It seems to be a hardware bug. I did find some links which suggested I flash upgrade the firmware but the dire warnings really sopped me.

But it works with Nero, on window on same machine
any explaination?

There does not seem to be any known logical solution. I have encountered the same problem.maybe there is a bug in the firmware or the cdwriter is not well supported by cdrecord is what i can imagine. Do let me know if u get 1.

Yes it used to to work w/ Adaptec EasyCD back in the old days on the same machine but I no longer have dual boot so I use a set of CDRWs and rotate them. Maybe something to do w/ adaptec having been disclosed some unknown specs by samsung that are not available to Joerg Schilling the author of cdrecord ?
And belive me I have even written to Joerg directly (before he stopped personal email correspondence wrt cdrecord) and he gave me to believe that it was a kernel bug. I do get a lot of scsi errors when I am using cdrecord.
