Hi, I am interested in open source and i want to work on some project for experience. The project should preferably be small since this is my first time. I know Java, Qt/C++, Python and PHP. If anyone knows a project which is good for first timers please let me know
Thanks, Nikhil

I am too young for summer of code(only 14). And anyway most of the google finanaced projects are much too big for me. Checked your projects Philip. Thanks. I will contact you if I decide to take up one

Evening Dear,
Probably you would like to look at www.freshmeat.net and www.sourceforge.net which hosts most of the top opensource/free software projects.
Take your time and your pick too.

that would probably not help these guys... let me Explain.
A friend's cousin (engineering) needs to do one of these projects as part of the semester course...
HERE'S the _catch_..
they need to submit a project which has been signed off by a company stating.. (like an intern ship thing i guess)
my qst. : there is a lot of untapped talent going to waste.. is there any way we as a group could channelise this into something formal which would be accepted by the UNI's ... ? Also we would start to get a lot more contributed back from Asia.. and get a whole bunch of budding talent.
any ideas? .. i already know someone who is itching to get coding.. but he needs a formal "letter from a company" by month end to submit to his prof.
regards Erle

Sometime Today, NM cobbled together some glyphs to say:

I have a few projects on sourceforge that I don't have much time to work on. Have a look at http://sourceforge.net/users/bluesmoon/ and see if any of them interest you.
