Most mailing lists do not send the message to the originator, presumably since you already have a copy in your 'sent' box. Although, you should see your message if you subscribe to Digest mode.

It's configurable in mailman. Can be set from your preferences page. Log in at http://mm.ilug-bom.org.in/mailman/listinfo/linuxers
Gmail shows incoming and outgoing mails in the same thread, so it's hard to know what is in your inbox and what is in your sent box.

Nope! I receive all my sent list messages in my inbox after they are broadcast. The sender is a member receipient too.
