Why is that damn password change option on the MTNL webpage if they are gonna shut you out if you don't login with their password.

I believe I'm ahead of you in the frust race. What I did was change the password on the site. Then launch the ADSL modem configuration and change the login details and Save. Then I had a couple of days with the new password. Then a overall network outage happened. i.e. even the 1504 ppl couldn't connect. then they came back on and I was still out. Many calls later... I had a guy asking me to do everything on the modem conf except stand on my head. In the end I happened to mention that I had changed the password to non-default value. It was like I committed some sacrilege to ancient MTNL gods. He asked me to reset it back and never change it again. I did the same and sure as hell it worked the very first time.
