Multimedia audio/video is not proper as usual even after all the upgrades and codec installations. But thats normal in Linux. Open media formats play fine.
Please everyone see project Gnash - join in if you are interested. It's a really cool project by some good people to resolve all the nasty proprietary issues around video - including flash animation. Normal is really boring, after all!

Hi.
Gnash is a flash movie player. I did not find any mention about playing VCDs and DVDs on the site.
