Dear Lugers,

My System is Debain 2.2(potato). I'm not able to connect to X.

I have setup X at par with my video hardware. XF86_S3 server is what I use. Xfree86 version is 3.3.6

When I startx just a screen comes with a pointer as cross sign, the same initial screen before desktop comes.

When I tried running XF86Setup it gave me the following errors, _X11TransSocketUNIXConnect: Can't connect: errno = 111 I get this for 7-8 times and finally Unable to communicate with X Server and then returns to prompt.

What is the problem? Where I have to look to solve this problem.
