Yes, I agree with you. Chinese companies do produce quality goods
otherwise they would never survive in the western market. It is only countries like us which are dumped with low quality stuff...
Do they dump them on us or do we (Indian Dealers) look for cheap products to capture the market for a quick buck? If an Indian dealer asks for Class A products, will he be refused by the Chinese?
Infact they will always offer u the best that they have and will show u the worst only after u have revealed your inner cheapskateness. U will love to see the chinese squirming as u notice all the flaws.
Everybody in the country is to blame, not just the importer. While other nations have passed thru this phase we seem to be stuck with a lazy, laid back attitude for the past 1000 yrs. We seem to be in such awe of our historical achievements that we dismiss every other nations achievements. The cheap chinese is one such. Right now we are trumpeting ourselves as a great software powerhouse. In reality we are only leveraging our english speaking capability. If it was anything else (low cost, innovation, efficiency) the chinese would have beaten us.

I totally agree. What we lack as Indians is national pride and awareness of what makes a Nation. It is this apathy that retards us from thinking positively and doing good for our country. Thats why we see people (even the educated ones) spitting anywhere, littering the streets with empty food packets and papers, breaking queues, pushing others to make way, sitting on the back rests of public seats with their shoes on the sitting area, putting their shoe feet on train benches and bus stop railings. It is even shocking to see lack of etiquette for senior citizens in public buses.
All this learning begins at home. Thats the training that is missing.

Ok, we're a poor nation. Even if the importer buys good quality stuff is he going to get the price for it? Will he be able to sell the same amount of goods? Will he be able to earn the same money? Actually the real question is - how many Indians really care about quality? Remember, not 100% of the Indians live in metros. Infact 70% live in villages. Majority Indians live below poverty line. Most Indians don't earn even minimum wage. Do these guys really care about quality? This tendancy to purchase cheap goods is in all of us. It's not as if the dealers keep all cheap stuff. They have good quality stuff too. How many actually ask for good quality stuff? How many are willing to shell out extra $$ for better quality?
And it's not that the word "Chinese" has been associated with "cheap", "low quality" over night. I don't know if you have heard the news that Chinese motorcycle manufacturers were denied entry into Indian markets the second time since their vehicles didn't meet our "pollution control standards". I don't know whether they have been denied entry due to political reasons or their vehicles are actually that bad. I am sure if our officials would've been unfair then the Chinese would've cried foul...
