I am considering purchase of a Linux supported web cam.
Please suggest brand/model that has worked for you and is available @ the Lam. Rd. shops.
TIA,

I recently bought a linux compatible webcam (Logitech QuickCam ) because the built-in webcam (Orbicam) of my Acer laptop does not work in Ubunutu. Compared with the Orbicam I am not satisfied with the quality of the images produced by Quickcam but I am quite happy that it works in Ubuntu!!

Which Acer notebook do you have ? I remember that the inbuilt webcam of the 4720 model worked for me after some tweaking, I dont remember what exactly I did but it worked for me.

The one I have is Acer Aspire 5101. The webcam make is from Ali Corp which is currently not supported by gspca.(anyone knows any working driver for this one?) 4720 has Logitech and gspca drivers are available for Logitech.

Thanks for the links. I have already tried them. At the moment webcam manufactured by ALI Corp is not supported by any of these drivers.

Thanks for the link. I checked this one. It looks like it is just an application to take pictures and record videos. But I am still looking for drivers for my webcam. (Vendor Id - 0402:5602)
