Dear ALL,
I have been using apache-1.3,php-4.0,horde-2.0,imp-3.0 on HP BL350, with 4GB ram, 4CPU with no issuses.
But when I upgraded to php-4.3,horde-2.2.5, imp-3.2.3 on same machine it is dead slow i am not able to login to horde, it logs me out and when i see loadavg its 11.
What could be the problem?
Thanks & Regards JAI

bash# ps eaxf >> processes.txt bash# netstat -ln >> processes.txt
Copy paste the info and lets see if something can be made out of it.

Hi Yayati ,
What is if the server load is more and the shell script which was supposed to alret get delayed alert for you.
One of the alternative can be as you can put a soft limit and hard limits on the user process see "ulimit" . "man bash" then search for "ulimit" also if u have root access then u can check with "/etc/security/limits.conf"
googlize on it :-)

I have proposed this to the administrator of the web server, but he is not keen on Ulimits, or PAM based limits. He only wants a mail alert, i have tried nagios, but some how having trouble linking its remote host deamon with the monitoring server. But still trying.
Thanxs for ur valued inputs. Shall get back with an appropriate solution.
Regards Yayati.
