Hi everyone. Just out of curiosity ; has anyone in this group tried out Plan 9 ? http://cm.bell-labs.com/wiki/plan9/download/ has a live CD. The ISO image is just 75.5 MB. i am downloading it. will try it out today. By the way I installed Dapper Beta 2 yesterday. Boot-up has improved in this release. The installer crashed in between. I put in a bug report & they said that this issue was rectified in the latest nightly build.
All is well but no audio o/p :( (in DB2) Anyway, this seems to be a intermittent configuration configuration problem with xmms since 5.10 xmms seems to be fragile. The least mistake in configuring it makes it unusable. Any suggestions for a better music player ? I am now trying out kmplayer.

Amarok (audio only) works for me or VLC (audio+video). Can't comment if they are better than xmms - beauty is in the eye of the beholder :)

Well it's not unix! So it's very different in every way. Fun to try out though.
