Hi All, As Trevor and Karunakar pointed out , there is an urgent need to spread awareness about GNU/Linux in our schools and colleges by conducting training and workshops on a regular basis. I have contact with an NGO called 'each one teach one' which is working with many BMC schools. We get their help for visiting these schools. Conducting workshops at software companies at Mumbai will be a good start to attract s/w engineers working in other technology areas. Dr Nagarjuna had agreed to conduct a speech about 'Free software Movement ' at TCS office at Borivali on Jan 10th.

Hello luggers, good-morning.

We totally agree with you on the same lines. It would indeed be a pleasure to see these events organised in a manner such that information regarding gnu-linux/fsf/os is handed out to the students/audience in a very palatable fashion.
This, we have found involves tremendous amount of planning-strategising and hardwork on part of the organisers. Incidentally, we have a lot of people asking for a lot of events and FEW WHO WANT TO GIVE TIME TOWARDS ORGANISING THE SAME.
Off late activities of these kinds have been waning.....and we would like to see the torch of fsf/os taken to the various educational institutions of our country. Both academicians and students would benefit from the same and inturn we would be glad that we had done our bit towards educating decision makers of tomorrow.

If there is indeed work that can be done with the NGO in and around bombay, i say lets sit across the table and discuss plans for the same. Dr. Nag inputs on the same should be taken too.

If there are any other topics that you need to get covered lemme know and i can have quite a few organised for the same.
Looking forwards to working with your esteemed organisation on all these fronts.
Bye for now and have a great day.
