hi Hiten,

when the grub menu comes pres 'e' on the kernel which u want 2 boot and then on the kernel=/boot/kernel.img line just add single at the end.

i.e. kernel (hd0,0)/vmlinuz root=/dev/hda8 devfs=mount hdb=ide-scsi vga=794 single

this will initate the single user mode.
