Dear all....I've to convert a pdf file having multi color background to Black and white to get a legible copy when printed.I'm using Debian Gnu/Linux 5.0.4. I tried $ convert -negate input.pdf output.pdf That changed the colour a little, but output was not black and white(Black letters in a white background) Thanks in Advance.

choose b/w laser printer as your driver through print, choose print to file, save as pdf. this should do the job. you may also choose options and change it to grey scale and try and see the results.
