Who all are going for FOSS.in?
I am. Who I? (Roshan) :). I initially had planned to start this thread, but dropped it because of certain reasons. The content of this thread would have been about my participation as a volunteer.
Hope to meet some new members from this list at FOSS.in

Roshan, Barkha, Dinesh, Kartik, Nirav, Philip, Mitul :)
This sounds more interesting then plain old "I am" , "Me too"

All those who decide at the last moment and find difficulty in train reservation need not worry. There are daily luxury buses between Mumbai and Bangalore and though its a 24 Hr. journey, at least you have a reserved seat. Maybe now there are sleeper and/or AC buses too. I used to travel to Bangalore by non-AC buses to our company HO, about 18 years ago so now things must be much better.

There is also spicejet, deccan air, go air and indigo air where even last minute flights are not too expensive. if you're lucky, you might get a cheap jet airways flight in the afternoon (2 or 3pm).

There are AC BEST buses in Mumbai, just no sleepers.
Sleep? Horizontal? You will miss your stop. :)

You don't travel enough in local transport. I used to be able to sleep in trains and buses and wake up at the correct halt (which need not be the same as the one where I want to get down).

Correct :) Life in Mumbai is very different from life in any other cities in India ! If you want, you can get free whole body massage daily when you go back to home in hopelessly crowded local trains and buses !!
You should consider yourself lucky if you manage to take a sneak sleep while back home in Trains :)

Actually I'm in Bombay. I'll be leaving on Thursday night for Bangalore.
I am leaving Thursday evening too. :-) See you in Bangalore.
BTW, yours is still a bachelor apartment? In that case I can drop in, if it's near IISc. ;-)
With regards,
