Pramila, if you publicly mention your e-mail address like this, I think you will start getting more than just group mails. ;) While posting publicly use the format below.

No reasoning behind this and any way we will know any one's mail address as they are posting on the group. :) And our group has certain standards and by seeing the id I don't think any one will send mails . And there is some other method of changing the mail address. I donno the exact url of that . You can check the mail sent to u when u joined the group for that url.

I think he was talking about spam bots that run through the mail archives. Email addresses in the header are munged, but those in the body aren't.
