On intel site i got the following libxerces-c1_6_0.tar.gz file for my intels lancard which i unzipped . i got libxerces-c1_6_0.so and a LICENSE.xerces.txt file.please tell me what should i do with the libxerces-c1_6_0.so file

I don't know what that has to do with ifconfig and redhat-config-soundcard. Usually .so files go in /lib or /usr/lib or any one of a dozen different variations on /usr/lib. You sure it didn't come with instructions?
