I am still interested in hearing from the knowledgeable folks if an adapter board (capable of installing a ps2 style mouse into an ISA slot) exists.

I do not know if such a beast exists and even if it did, it would be hard to find it in the regular channels. Your best bet would be to scout the used computer stores (as well as the used computer parts street hawkers) in the Lam Rd. area.
You might have better luck in finding serial port adapters and use a serial mouse.

On a related note the usb to ps2 does not work very reliably for me. After booting the mouse and keybrd is never recognised. One has to unplug and replug, the keyboard will start but not the mouse.
Also it does not work at all with a KVM switch. The result is I have to use multiple mice, or junk the KVM for a newer version.

Arun: I would love to wander around Lam Rd or anywhere else in Mumbai (Bombay to me) :-) having spent only 4 hours in the airport back in '66. Alas I am on the other side of the globe :-(
