Hi,
In the current month's "Linuxforu" issue there is mpg file (it is a video file of RMS giving speech). This file runs perfectly alright with xine, but with mplayer the audio of the file runs faster then it should normally be. (I am not talking about audio-video alignment.) The audio comes out as if in fast-forward mode. I tried to configure different audio output method, but the same result. I even tried running mplayer on console using frame buffer mode. But still the same result. I tried the latest version of mplayer, which also gives the same problem. The file plays absolutely fine with xine.
Has anybody had similar problem ?
Rajen.

WOW. I did not realize they would have added the Video on the CD. I'll check it out. ;-)
BTW... Don't bother looking for a solution. I'm the jerk that made the file and did a poor job of doing it right. ;-) I did not realize they would put it on the CD.
The thing is that RMS insisted that I add a copywrite notice before his video and I tried to use 'free' tools to get the job done, but no joy.
