rtl8139 and dfe 538tx are the same, and use the same realtek chipset. Both work under GNU/linux.

Go to http://www.google.com/linux and search for the other cards.

If u already have the card in your system, lspci -vv will list the hardware as the machine sees it. This is different from the fancy model numbers printed on the box. Look for the line with Ethernet controller: here is mine
