hello all, as mentioned by Chetan on another thread, I am aware that rpms of open office 2.0.3 are very fast and stable as well. can some one explain me how to convert these rpms with alien and which rpms to install for getting the latest of openoffice? I need to know exactly the order in which the files must be installed. may be chetan can suggest the right (exact) version of 2.2 or 2.3? regards, Krishnakant.

Hey krish,
Check out this thread: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=304335
and this blog post: http://strabes.wordpress.com/2006/11/17/installing-rpm-packages-in-ubuntu/
AFAIK, you only need to use alien -i <RPM PACKAGE NAME>
Replace <RPM PACKAGE NAME> by your rpm.
