Try using DansGuradian. Its a HTTP content filter. It can do virus scanning under HTTP too.

Don't use Internet Explorer. It's pretty much the only one that does ActiveX.

Eh? That's a new one.
The same ones that exploit IE with ActiveX holes :). Not new, just getting more popular. IIRC, Nimda was the first large one to use this.
