I am getting few errors while installing centos 5.2 in my thosiba laptop (satelite A305-6858). I have search the net for solutions but couldn't get one. I have tried several times but no use..i get these erros
Kernal panic --not-syncing -Fatal exception and there is some memory crash error..
In my laptop i have 4GB of ram but in the windows properties it is showing 2.99 GB.

Can you note the exact error? Have you tested the CD/DVD itself for errors? If you suspect your RAM then run memtest from some linux CD/DVD.

This is a different problem. It has something to do with 32-bit archtecture, nothing to do with your problem.

Did your system work at least for once or a few times before giving this problem or you did not even reach the first boot post installation?
You could check out your system's compatibility with CentOS by using the CentOS Live CD.

For any distro, if a live CD version is available try it on the new target system first before doing actual installation.

The regular Windows installation is 32 bit and can recognize only upto 3 GB of RAM. For utilizing full 4 GB, you need the 64 bit version. All your drivers and software have to be 64 bit but thats another story. Normal 32 bit GNU/Linux distros are already geared up for higher RAMs.

Try disabling the NIC in the BIOS if possible and then install CentOS.
