Hello List, I have been searching for offline dictionaries for Redhat Linux 9.0. I haven't been able to search one. By default, I have Kdict with KDE, but it requires an internet connection. Though, I should not be saying this, but in Windows, there is a software called WORDWEB that is free as in "free bear".
Is there something similar to "Word Web?"

Perhaps you did not search enough. http://stardict.sourceforge.net/ (This requires libglib 2.0 or above)
http://www.dict.org/bin/Dict (This one you can run on we server running on localhost)

Don't know about WORDWEB but stardict works great. You are using way too old Linux pal. Resolving dependencies on your version of Linux will be headache.

(This one you can run on web server running on localhost) typo there..
Install a package called Dictd. It is a Dictionary server. Also download some dictionary package. The server listens on port 2628. If tht port is open, it is working. Then you can use some client like the default Gnome dictionary client. Add a dict server as localhost. Test.
