am happy to offer the CAMP roof again if that's convenient for people, and Kenneth, if you don't mind navigating the lanes and walking up the stairs again :) ( http://camputer.org/directions.html ). With the monsoons hopefully over, the roof is usable again -- we could possibly fit a wrestling ring if people need to sort stuff out. Coffee prices are rising, so it may not be as nice as the last meet-up, but can definitely offer some home-made brew.
Let me know -Sanjay

Sounds good to me. Can someone confirm that Ganesh festivities will be over by then? Am fairly certain 22nd is the last day. In case there are immersions that evening, things maybe a bit rough / may be a better idea to hold it somewhere else.
If no Ganpati, we can confirm - I can send out a separate email with the details - do you mind if I announce a mini-event on our website (http://camputer.org) as well?
CAMP may shut for a month in October as some of us are going out of town and some just had a baby :/, so will also be nice to host an event before that. There is an outdoor projection screen (http://camputer.org/images/09.jpg)- if there are ideas to use it and if there is no rain, I can make sure to have things ready.
Cheers, Sanjay

Impressive and cool ... however at first the link bombed because of the extra chars ")-" in your text
I have found the following syntax helpful <URL> with spaces *before* and *after* the entire string.
Email client/browsers pick up the extra chars around the link and result in "Page not found" In this case the ")-" at the end was the culprit.
if there are ideas to use it and if
how about a short movie?

Ah, the number of times I have cursed other people for doing the same thing. Apologies to all - http://camputer.org/images/09.jpg .
But I do also long for the days when things didn't automagically linkify strings and you had to copy-paste, or copy-paste, what's that? You have to remember the damned string, logout of Pine, open Lynx.. Ah well ..

Sure. Although, I think our larger speakers may be a bit out of order, so may not have great sound with a set of smaller speakers we normally use indoors. Let me see if I have the bandwidth next week to organize properly, then can hire sound and make it a bit of a party :), just a bit stressed with work and not sure I can devote the time that requires. If someone has something to watch that doesn't require sound, it would be awesome :).
We would only be able to start the projection once it gets dark, of course.
Let me know. -Sanjay

well, the BOF was a resounding success with participants from as far away as Kenya and Finnland (no, not the guy who comes to mind). There were animated discussions on topics like how apple and nokia are taking the finnish people for a ride, on the new 3300 rupee iphone demoed at the meet, on getting static IP working, on FOSS in university education - and of course, a lot of stories. Unfortunately there was no time to discuss top posting ;-) Statistics - 60% of the participants were 'old', 100% of the 'old' people have not retired and are still active in fossing. 60% of the participants were non-local. And a good proportion of the gathering was from outside the country. Thanks to the management and staff of pad.ma for the arrangements and excellent coffee - no, we were having too good a time to watch a movie. Maybe next time.

hey all- sorry for not sending out a confirmation .
Doesn't look I'm going to be able to organize sound, so maybe no movie :( But hope people can make it.
If you are lost, call the cell-phone number mentioned on this page: http://camputer.org/campstudio.html (its my cell-phone).
Looking forward, Sanjay

Maybe we can set right any problem, if we do require sound.

I forget, hardware hackers in bound :)
I'm mostly just being lazy here - have had a terrible week and can't manage the bandwidth to put the energy into organizing properly. If anyone is feeling enthusiastic and wants to come about an hour early and volunteer to help set things up, anything should be possible.
Am thinking a relaxed meet-up with just some coffee and no microprocessors involved may not be such a bad thing :)
Let me know though - if someone is super-keen to watch a movie on projection, just call me in the morning so I can try and book sound, and come an hour early to help with setup (and if possible stay on half an hour to help with clean-up :)) - we could also get beer if there's a plan for a movie.. again, would just need someone to help carry a bucket of ice up 3 floors.
Call me tomorrow in the morning (post 10 am) if someone is up for this, else we drink coffee and talk about top-posting.
Looking forward to seeing everyone.

No one thinking of key-signing? Or is everyone's keys in the trustdb or everybody else? ;-)

Did you mean that you are connected with BSNL 3G or you weren't able to connect at all ? I am confused how did you send this email ?
Anyways was curious because BSNL 3G didn't work for me in pune at all . Is it something similar in your case ?

BSNL 3G does not work in Mumbai. I am in a cybercafe. And bsnl 3G has a hybrid mode for falling back to 2G which should work in Mumbai - but I do not yet know how to activate the hybrid mode. I was in erode district (which has only 2G) and my friend with windows had the hybrid mode and could access. I could not.
